Her film career began in 1958 when she appeared in the Disney movie The Light in the Forest. Holiday for Lovers (1959), Blue Denim (1959) followed. In 1959, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female. She was nominated to the Golden Globe Award again for Most Promising Youngcomer Female the following year in the film Blue Denim.
