Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic also a speaker who is Canadian. Feminist Frequency is a channel that hosts videos, comments and an analysis of portrayals in popular cultures. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and award-winning feminist for nearly a decade. She is the creator and director-general of Feminist Frequency which is an education non-profit site that examines the representation of women in pop culture narratives. The challenge of destroying stereotypes regarding women is the main goals of her work. But, she also explores the issue of specific harassment of women on the internet and other minorities that have been excluded. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in political thought and social theory from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. She was interested in the gender issue and feminist movements at a early time. In 2009, while continuing to study at the university level, she created the Feminist Frequency web site. As of 2009, this ebullient young woman was targeted online for launching a website series on gender in videogames. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that investigates women's representation in popular culture of today.
